Announcement: signature size !

Not the most perfect place for an announcement, I know, but as a moderator I can't make topics in the 'Announcement' section, so this is the best option ^^'

There has not been a real topic about signatures before, so nobody is to blame for anything, let that be sure ! But since I've seen signatures grow bigger and bigger lately, it's time for me to take action.

Quite some time ago, thingperson and I once discussed about the size for signature images. We both agreed that 500x250 pixels would be a good standard size. After all, it remains a signature.

To avoid seeing within a certain time really large images for signatures, here are the new size specifications for signature images:

preferably 500 x 250 pixels (W x H),
maximum 500 x 300 pixels

Multiple images are allowed (a 500 x 200/250 image, and a smaller animated gif, for example), as long as the signature section doesn't grow TOO long again. 2 is a reasonable number.

I know that announcements like this aren't always too pleasant news, but believe me, having to probably disappoint some of you guys isn't all that pleasant for me either. But I'm just doing my job, and if I don't take measures now, we might end up with signatures bigger than most posts.
Besides, I think that compared to many other sites, 500 x 300 max image size is already quite a luxury (compare that with the signatures on Minitokyo, for example). Mine here's not even 500 x 200, and still there's a lot on it ! Very Happy

I won't put any time limit on changing the signatures that surpass these sizes, since not everybody can always visit the forum daily. But I hope that things will be adjusted as soon as possible.

Hey there onii chan i totally agree with you about this signature size i remember talking about this im so happy you made a annoucement and sorry i wasnt here to help you put this in a announcement but i guess if you think about it the questions thread is the best one for it i think, oh oh and my computer is fixed now yay my computer so now i can be on here active like i use to yay..*smiles*.
